Media Wars and Nicaragua
In the last years of the Sandinista rule, the press played a crucial role in the political struggles of Nicaragua during 1979-1990. Accusations of propaganda were levelled at both the Sandinista and Nicaraguan media, as the low intensity conflict between the two countries rumbled through the 1980s. This book analyzes the role of the Nicaraguan press during this period when censorship, media experiments and debates over the role of the media influenced its activities and development.
